Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Babolat XCEL 12M 1.30 (16) best suited for?

Multifilament strings are the go-to for players who prioritise arm-friendliness, comfort and a soft feel - especially players with tennis elbow, older players and flat-ball hitters. They play closest to natural gut at a fraction of the price.

What does the 1.30 mm (16 gauge) gauge mean?

The 1.30 mm (16 gauge) indicates the string's thickness. This is a thicker gauge, which trades a little feel for extra durability and tension stability.

What tension should I string it at?

The recommended tension range is 53-62 lbs (24-28 kg). Multifilaments and gut hold tension beautifully across a wide range - the higher end still stays comfortable.

How long will this string last?

Expect this string to last most players 20-30 hours of play, or around 1-2 months of regular use. Restring when you notice the stringbed going dead or losing tension.
