What tennis racquet (tennis racket) should I choose as a beginner?
Most beginners do best with a lighter, more forgiving tennis racquet/tennis racket that’s easier to swing and more comfortable. If you tell us your age, height, playing level, and any arm discomfort, we’ll recommend options that suit.
What’s the difference between “tennis racquet” and “tennis racket”?
They mean the same thing — “tennis racquet” and “tennis racket” are just different spellings used by different regions.
How do I choose tennis shoes for the right court surface?
Choose tennis shoes based on your main court type: all-court for most players, clay court for extra grip and sliding control, or hard court for durability and stability. If you’re unsure, tell us where you play and we’ll guide you.
Do you offer professional racquet restringing services?
Yes. Sturdy Racquets offers professional racquet restringing performed by a master stringer, using the same standard of equipment seen at elite tournaments. We use the Yonex Precision 9.0 stringing machine, an Australian Open–approved machine, to ensure consistent tension, accuracy, and performance for every restring.
How often should I restring my racquet?
A common guideline is to restring as many times per year as you play per week (e.g., play 2x/week → about 2 restring jobs/year). If your strings feel dead, lose control, or move excessively, it’s likely time.
Can you recommend a string if I don’t know what to choose?
Yes. Tell us your level, how often you play, and whether you want more comfort, control, power or spin — we’ll recommend suitable options.
