Frequently Asked Questions

What are bumper/grommet sets used for?

These are replacement parts that protect your racquet frame from court contact and prevent your strings from wearing through the frame holes. The bumper is the plastic strip along the top of the hoop; grommets are the small plastic sleeves in each string hole. Together they protect the frame from scrapes and keep your strings from prematurely breaking at friction points.

When should I replace bumpers and grommets?

Replace them when you see visible cracking, flattening, or when your strings keep breaking at the grommet holes. Players who scrape the court often on low volleys typically need new bumper strips every 12-18 months. Most stringers will happily fit them during a restring.

Do these fit my specific racquet?

Bumper and grommet sets are racquet-model-specific - they match the exact mould of the frame. Check that the product is listed for your exact racquet model and generation. If unsure, contact us via chat with your frame's details and we'll confirm the right part.
