Stringing Service

A racquet is only as good as the string in it. We string on a Yonex Precision 9.0, the machine used at Australian Open level events, and every job is done by a master stringer in our Brooklyn store. You pick the tier and the string, we set the tension and finish it cleanly.

There are two ways to buy. Add stringing to a new racquet on the racquet page and you pay the discounted rate, from $19.95 including the string, because the frame is already in our hands. Bring in a racquet you already own and it is the standalone service, from $55 including the string, or $35 labour if you supply your own.

• With a new racquet: $19.95, $39.95, $49.95 and $59.95. Your own string set fitted for $15.95.
• Stringing only, any brand of racquet: $55, $65, $75 and $85. Your own string fitted for $35.
• Strung by a master stringer on a Yonex Precision 9.0 for accurate, repeatable tension.
• Any tension from 44 to 65 lbs, with advice if you are not sure. Around 53 lbs suits most players.
• 24 to 48 hour turnaround in store. Hybrid set-ups available in the Ultimate Performance tier.

What does it cost?

Two price lists. Added to a new racquet, the tiers are $19.95, $39.95, $49.95 and $59.95, string included, or $15.95 labour if you pick a string set from our range. As a stringing-only service on a racquet you already own, the tiers are $55, $65, $75 and $85, string included, or $35 labour if you bring your own string.

Why is it cheaper with a new racquet?

Because the frame is already on the bench. There is no booking, no second handling and no waiting on you to drop it in, so we pass that saving on.

Which tier should I pick?

Standard for juniors, social players and anyone who rarely breaks a string. Premium is the one most club players land on. Ultra Premium and Ultimate Performance are for fast, frequent swingers who want tour-level control, spin or a hybrid set-up. Tell us how often you play and we will point you at the right one.

How long does it take?

How often should I restring?

The old rule still holds: as many times a year as you play per week. Twice a week, twice a year. Restring sooner if the strings feel dead, move around, or you have lost control of your depth.
