Description

The bumper strip along the top of your racquet is the part that takes the damage. Every low volley scraped off the court wears it down, and once it is through, the next scrape is into the frame itself. The grommets do the quieter job: they line every string hole so the string slides against plastic instead of graphite.

This is the full replacement set for the 2018 Yonex EZONE 26 junior racquet: bumper strip and grommet strips, enough to redo one frame. It is a cheap piece of maintenance that buys a junior frame another season, and the best time to fit it is during a restring, when the frame is already empty.

Which racquet does this fit?

The 2018 Yonex EZONE 26 junior. Grommets follow the exact mould of a frame, so this set will not fit the current EZONE 26 or the other junior sizes. If you are not sure which generation you have, send us a photo of the frame and we will tell you.

What is in the set?

The bumper strip that runs around the top of the hoop and the grommet strips for the rest of the frame. One set does one racquet.

When do I need new grommets?

When the bumper has worn through, the plastic is cracked or squashed flat, or strings keep snapping right at the frame holes. Juniors who slide into low balls tend to need a new bumper every 12 to 18 months.

Can you fit it for me?

Yes. Bring the racquet into the Brooklyn store and we will fit it while it is restrung, which is the easiest time to do it, since the frame is already empty.
